A planning tool for business owners
What would the next inquiry need to be worth?
Use your own estimates to connect campaign cost, website visits and sales. Change one assumption at a time to see what the decision depends on.
What those assumptions imply
3.0 additional monthly inquiries and 0.75 expected sales. Fractional sales are an average, not a partial transaction.
$600 in additional sales revenue and $240 after your assumed delivery costs.
After the campaign cost: $5 in estimated monthly contribution.
1 additional whole sale would cover the campaign cost at your margin.
These are planning inputs, not a traffic forecast or a guarantee. Replace the examples with your own figures. Taxes, fixed overhead and other marketing costs are not included.
Review the website behind these numbersKeep revenue and margin separate.
A sale does not contribute its entire value toward marketing. Materials, fulfillment and other direct delivery costs come first. Use a contribution margin that reflects the work you actually sell.
The calculation is: visits × inquiry rate × close rate × sale value × contribution margin, less campaign cost. Break-even sales round the campaign cost divided by contribution per sale up to a whole sale.
Compare a cautious estimate with a stronger one. If the decision works only under an unusually high close rate, improve the inquiry and follow-up process before treating extra traffic as the answer.
